Last updated: October 11, 2021.

General

OneCloud respects your right to privacy. This Privacy Supplement describes what personal information OneCloud processes for the OneCloud for Android & iOS service and why. For more general information about privacy at OneCloud, please see the Privacy Policy.

What is OneCloud?

OneCloud is a unified collaboration service brought to you by OneCloud. OneCloud for Android and OneCloud for iOS allows users to securely call from your business number directly on your device as if you were using your desk phone. It allows you to be reachable from anywhere around the world.

What personal information does OneCloud for Android and iOS process?

To provide the OneCloud service, OneCloud processes network and usage information including IP addresses, contact details, and sign-in information. Examples include:

  • Email addresses for contacts created from the server-side or within the app.
  • Phone contact numbers but only if you have granted permission to do so.
  • We check Gravatar to load your display image but only if you have granted permission to do so. Please find Gravatar's Privacy policy here.

Indirect End User Phone Contact Information (Personal Identifiable Information)

OneCloud acts as a data processor with regard to indirect end-user personal identifiable information and our clients act as the data controller of such data. In the course of OneCloud’s processing and protection of such data, all use will be in conformity with the data controller’s instructions.

Specifically, only when enabled via system permission on OneCloud Android and OneCloud iOS, OneCloud shows personal contacts within the respective application. When the user sends an SMS message to one of his/her phone contacts, or when the user initiates a call to one of his/her phone contacts, the phone number is sent securely through OneCloud’s API. OneCloud does not store this number with any other PII, and it cannot be directly or indirectly attributed to any person or persons; OneCloud stores only the phone number and pertinent metadata so as to be compliant with all applicable state and federal laws, and OneCloud does not share this data with any advertisers or third parties under any circumstances. A user can revoke phone contact access on his/her mobile device at any time, and his/her app experience is not hindered or interrupted.

OneCloud Android and iOS also uses Gravatar, which is a service that provides avatar images linked to the MD5 hash of the user’s email address. This means that, only when Gravatar use is enabled, we hash each contact’s email address and send it to Gravatar to try and retrieve an avatar image. MD5 hashes cannot be directly or indirectly attributed to any person or persons, and we only send the MD5 hash to Gravatar, never the email address in plain text. As with phone contacts, a user can revoke Gravatar access at any time in Settings and his/her app experience is not hindered or interrupted.

How is this information used?

OneCloud is not in the business of selling personal information to third parties. OneCloud uses this information to deliver the OneCloud service, to identify and troubleshoot problems with the OneCloud service, and to improve the OneCloud service. In addition, OneCloud may use this information to investigate fraud or abuse.
